What NHTSA investigated
On april 13, 2009, carrier reported that certain K410 condenser assemblies, imported into the united states before december 12, 2008, for use on small bus applications contain a cover that may interfere with the assembly's coil header.interference between the cover and coil header may prevent the fasteners from properly securing the assembly cover.an improperly secured condenser assembly cover may detach from a vehicle during operation, possibly causing a crash or injury to pedestrians.nhtsa assigned recall number 09E-013 to this matter.rmd initially mailed ir letters to 4 of carrier's customers thought to be vehicle manufacturers.two of those companies, diamond coach corp. And transportation collaborative, filed defects with this office (09V-201 & 09V-230).ANOTHER ir recipient, ct south, has replied to previous eq inquiries stating that they are a transit management company and not a manufacturer of motor vehicles.pro air inc. Replied that they distributed the equipment to three customers.after mailing additional ir letters, elkhart coach and tiffany coachworks filed defect reports (09V-252 & 09V-278).THE third customer, glaval bus, had already filed 09V-212 prior to the opening of this eq.eq responses can be found below or in the document repository.this eq is closed.
