What NHTSA investigated
This investigation was opened based on two reports from consumers alleging malfunctions of the harness adjuster mechanism in their 2006 model year baby trend flex-loc rear facing infant restraint.one consumer reported that the harness release button falls off and the harness straps do not lock in place.both consumers advised odi that the internal springs of the harness adjuster mechanism came out of the adjuster.baby trend provided one additional non-duplicative report in its april 25, 2008 response to odi.odi is closing this investigation based on the low incident rate and the production change to the harness release button.see document file for additional information.
