Summary of information from manufacturer:a manual control valve for theair suspension is mounted on the subject crossmember.the subject cross-member can be overstressed and fail, resulting in it protruding above thetop of the frame and interfering with trailer chassis components.thiscould result in loss of vehicle control.additionally, if the subjectcrossmember completely separates, the height of the suspension air springscould be affected.the resulting lean could cause an unsuspecting driverto loose control of the vehicle.analysis:concurrence with the manufacturer's information.proposed action:close this pe.mack submitted a defect report onfebruary 2, 1987.CURRENTLY they are working on a permanent solution tocorrect the defect.the solution will be analyzed when available.===
