Summary of information from manufacturer:the suspect units are equippedwith non-gm primary fuel tanks (side entry rather than top or cornerentry), but use remainder of GM system.analysis:fuel expulsion in these vehicles can occur under a combinationof the following:using the fuel tank when full, high engine loading(or high underhood/undercarriage temperatures), high ambient temperature,and/or high altitude.under the influence of these factors, the gasolinecan volatize in excess of the fuel emmission system capacity resulting infuel tank pressurization.of the 9 reports, 4 are 1986, 5 are 1987.STATUS:CLOSE out pe, open ea and redefine defect to address cause of fuelexpulsion (high underhood/undercarriage temperature) and the effect onthe non-metallic fuel reservoir/undercarriage components.===
