What NHTSA investigated
On may 20, 1998, orion bus industries issued a safety recall in canada on 101 transit bused equipped with proheat bravo XL2400 heaters.the proheat bravo heaters were manufacturer by teleflex canada ltd.the problem has been traced to a improperly assembled fuel regulator.the defective fuel regulator may allow an excess amount of fuel into the combustion chamber leading to a potential for flame to escape from the heater exhaust.the purpose of this sq is to determine if there is any transit bus in the US equipped wiht this same heater.the sq investigation discovered 63 new flyer buses owned by madison county transit equipped with the proheat brave model 80.ON june 23, 1998, teleflex candada initiated a safety recall.teleflex canada will inspect all heaters and if necessary replace all defective regulators.a recall number of 98V-141 has been assigned to this recall.
