What NHTSA investigated
Due to the agency's investigation into this matter, meritor has agreed to conduct a safety recall to notify owners to check and, if necessary, tighten the guide pawl to the specified torque.the original equipment manufacturers (oem's) involved in this recall are freightliner corporation, kenworth truck company, navistar international transportation company, peterbilt motors, and volvo trucks north america inc.the involved oem's will independently file a defect report with odi.this investigation is closed, further use of the agency resources does not appear warranted.the agency may take further action on this matter if warranted by future circumstances.
