What the defect is
Compressor mount kit p/n 4012080, manufactured between november 1, 2002, and march 6, 2003. The compressor is held in alignment of the belt loop by a manufactured weldment. Weldment does not line up prefectly with the idler, causing the belt to move of "walk" off center.
What could happen
The belt can "walk" out of alignment and rub against the power steering line.

TRANS/AIR HAS NOT PROVIDED THE AGENCY WITH A NOTIFICATION AND REMEDY SCHEDULE YET.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner.
