What the defect is
Certain femtec ultra aftermarket cast aluminum custom wheels, series 260 in sizes 15" x 10" and 16" x 10" sold for use on light trucks. These wheels may contain design-induced stress which could lead to a crack developing over time at the drop center.
What could happen
This could lead to air loss from the tire as well as the eventual separation of the wheel and tire from the rim, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
What gets fixed
FEMTEC WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER A FULL REFUND OR MAKE AVAILABLE REPLACEMENT WHEELS OF SIMILAR PRODUCT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 18, 2006.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 16 August 2006.
