What the defect is
On certain motor homes built on chevrolet chassis and equipped with a decorative dash trim kit, the adhesive backed synthetic trim is attached to the dash, engine cover, door panel and the chevrolet "bow tie" decal is attached to the steering wheel (directly over the existing bow tie impression). This decal could affect the deployment of the air bag safety restraint built into the steering wheel.
What could happen
In the event of a vehicle crash in which the driver side air bag is deployed, the resulting functionality of the air bag is uncertain, which can increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.
What gets fixed
OWNERS WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO REMOVE THE STEERING WHEEL DECAL. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 30, 2006.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 11 May 2006.
