- Villa AIR Ride Driver Seat
What the defect is
Certain villa air ride driver seats built since july 2005 with the V2500 or V2000 iss adnik/villa frame installed as original equipment on certain recreational vehicles. The side rail on the lower air suspension can fail to conform to meet the full requirement of federal motor vehicle safety no. 207, seating systems.
What could happen
The purpose of this standard is to establish requirements for seats, their attachment assemblies and their installation to minimize the possibility of their failure.
What gets fixed
VILLA IS WORKING WITH THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS TO REPAIR THE AFFECTED SEATS. THE REMEDY AND NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE FOR THIS RECALL HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 21 September 2007.
