What the defect is
Tomberlin automotive group is recalling certain model year 2012 tomberlin avl low speed vehicles manufactured from june 2011 through september 2011. The seat belt identification tag does not include the date of manufacturer. Accordingly, the seat belts fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 500, "low speed vehicles."
What could happen
In the event of a safety issue with the affected seat belts, the vehicle owner may not be able to identify the seat belt if it does not have a date of manufacture.
What gets fixed
TOMBERLIN WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE SEAT BELTS FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 10, 2012.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 8 November 2011.
