What the defect is
Cruiser RV is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 Fun Finder, Shadow Cruiser, Fun Finder Xtra, Viewfinder, Signature, Radiance, Enterra recreational trailers manufactured January 1, 2006, through April 25, 2013 and equipped with Fastec-brand door locks. It may be possible to remove the key from the lock in a way that potentially jams the deadbolt.
What could happen
If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. A person inside the travel trailer at the time will then be locked in and be unable to exit the vehicle without using the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.
What gets fixed
Cruiser RV will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The recall began January 20, 2014.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 19 November 2013.
