What the defect is
KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling certain model year 2015 690 Enduro R motorcycles manufactured November 1, 2014, to February 28, 2015. The rear brake line from the ABS pressure modulator to the foot brake cylinder may have been damaged during the assembly process and/or be subject to subsequent damage caused by contact with the spring clamp of the crank case ventilation hose.
What could happen
A damaged brake line may cause a loss of rear braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash.
What gets fixed
KTM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the positioning of the crank case ventilation hose clamp, correcting it as necessary. Any damaged brake line will be replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on May 1, 2015.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 8 April 2015.
