What the defect is
McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc. (McNeilus) is recalling certain model year 2015 Atlantic front loader refuse trucks manufactured May 22, 2015, to October 26, 2015, and equipped with an optional tailgate for a compressed natural gas (CNG) system. The affected trucks may have been manufactured without rear and side rear red reflectors. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."
What could happen
Missing reflectors can cause the vehicle to be less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
What gets fixed
McNeilus will notify owners, and dealers will install the missing four reflectors, free of charge. The recall began on January 8, 2016.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 21 December 2015.
