What the defect is
TAP Worldwide, LLC (TAP) is recalling certain Pro Comp aftermarket Control Arms, part numbers 8352, 8355, 20051, 20054, 8332, 8335, 8327, 8330, 8346, 8349, 51003B, 51004B, 51005B, 52001B, 56003B, 57001B, 57002B, and 57003B. These control arms may be missing or have improperly seated bottom-side circlips, allowing the control arm to detach.
What could happen
If a control arms detaches it can cause a loss of steering or vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.
What gets fixed
TAP will notify owners and dealers will inspect the control arms and replace any that are affected, free of charge. The recall began October 1, 2018.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 30 July 2018.
