What the defect is
DiamondBack Automotive Accessories, Inc (DiamondBack) is recalling certain Switchback truck bed covers designed for 2015-2024 Ford F-150, 2017-2024 Ford Super Duty F-250 F-350, and F-450 vehicles as an aftermarket accessory. The cap clamps included with the cover may loosen over time, allowing the cover to detach during transit.
What could happen
A detached cover may become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash.
What gets fixed
DiamondBack will provide a kit including redesigned clamps, free of charge. Owners are advised to inspect and tighten the clamps before driving until the repair is completed. Owner notification letters were mailed March 25, 2025.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 18 December 2024.
