What the defect is
If excess combustible fluids such as diesel fuel or lubrication oil build up in these engines, the excess fluid can be carried into the intake system through a valve.
What gets fixed
THE CRANKCASE DEPRESSION REGULATOR VALVE WILL BE REPLACED WITH A ROAD DRAFT TUBE. THIS REPAIR IS TO BE DONE AT THE SAME TIME AS THE REPAIR FOR CAMPAIGN 80C-4.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 2 December 1981.

This could result in loss of vehicle control,without prior warning, and an accident.note: owner is advised not to overfill the crankcase while changing or addinglubrication oil. Should loss of throttle control be experienced during vehicleoperation, the transmission should be shifted to neutral, the vehicle braked toa stop, and the ignition key turned off. No attempt should be made to restartthe engine.
