What the defect is
The tandem axle suspension systems have bottom coil spring boxes that may have improper welds, or bolts that may be of an inappropriate grade, or bolts that may have been improperly torqued at time of installation. Consequence of defect: under ordinary use, the bottom coil spring box or bolts may fail, which may cause loss of a coil spring from motorhome. The loss of the coil springs could go unnoticed, posing no danger to the occupants of the motorhome. However, the loose springs may be a hazard to other motorists.
What gets fixed
REPLACING COIL SPRING BOXES OR BOLTS AND INSTALLING A SAFETY STRAP ON TWO COIL SPRINGS.

A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner.
