What the defect is
Certain motor homes fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, 'lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment'" certain front and rear side marker lights were not installed on the affected units.
What could happen
Missing side marker lights could reduce the visibility of vehicles and increase the potential for a crash.
What gets fixed
DEALERS WILL INSTALL THE MISSING SIDE MARKER LIGHTS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 8, 2007.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 27 September 2007.

And its holding company, national RV holdings, inc., have filed for bankruptcy. NHTSA has been advised that owners who wish to pursue claims related to safety recall repair work on their national RV vehicles may file a proof of claim with the united states bankruptcy court for the central district of california, riverside division. The case number assigned to this matter is 07-17941.
