What the defect is
Terex telelect is recalling certain model year 1999 through 2009 texoma 330 auger drills with telescoping polesetter extension mounted on trucks. The vehicles involved utilized a hydraulic cylinder to articulate the polesetter extension. The vehicles are pressure diggers used to drill holes and handle poles. The extension can have unintended movement up to 4 to 6 inches when other functions are operated.
What could happen
Unintended movement of the extension can be dangerous to the operator which could result in death or serious injury.
What gets fixed
TEREX WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 16, 2010.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 24 February 2010.
