What the defect is
Crossroads RV is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 zinger recreational vehicles. The federal identification tag on the vehicles contains incorrect, gross axle weight rating (gawr) and gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) information. Accordingly, the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of part 567, "certification."
What could happen
Should a consumer rely on the incorrect axle and weight rating information, the vehicle could be overloaded, causing a tire failure that could result in a crash causing personal or property damage.
What gets fixed
CROSSROADS WILL REPLACE THE FEDERAL IDENTIFICATION TAG WITH ONE CONTAINING THE CORRECT WEIGHT RATINGS FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 17, 2011.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 11 March 2011.
