What the defect is
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Legacy motorhomes, models 340BH, 340KP, and 360RB, manufactured September 12, 2013, to September 25, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with a seat belts whose shoulder belt may rest at, or below, the shoulder of the seat occupant. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies", and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
What could happen
If the shoulder belt rests too low on the torso, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
What gets fixed
Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install new seat belt systems, free of charge. An interim notice was mailed to owners on January 13, 2016. The recall began on February 1, 2016.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 30 November 2015.
