What the defect is
Kalmar Solutions, LLC (Kalmar) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Ottawa T2 trucks manufactured July 14, 2014, to November 2, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with a chassis power board that is not protected from moisture. Additionally, the bolts that mount the chassis power board may rub against the circuit board and cause an electrical short.
What could happen
Exposure to moisture or rubbing from mounting bolts may result in an electrical short which can increase the risk of a fire.
What gets fixed
Kalmar will install nylon washers to any truck that were not built with washers. The recall began on April 21, 2016.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 9 February 2016.
