What the defect is
MV Agusta USA, LLC (MV Agusta) is recalling certain 2018 MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster RC, F3 800RC, and F3 800 motorcycles. These vehicles are equipped with a fork axle carrier that may have damaged threads which can cause excessive play of the wheel clamping screw.
What could happen
Wheel clamping screws that experience excessive play can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.
What gets fixed
MV Agusta will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the threaded holes in the fork axle carriers, and if necessary replace the fork leg, free of charge. Owners are advised to not ride their motorcycles until the repair has been performed. The recall began July 20, 2018.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 10 July 2018.
