What the defect is
Adventurer LP is recalling certain truck campers equipped with Dometic stoves, model numbers R1731, R2131, and S31, and part numbers 50303, 50430, and 50938, installed in certain Adventurer, Eagle Cap, Overlander, and Scout truck campers. The saddle valve securing bolt may be overtightened, possibly damaging the O-ring seal and causing a continuous gas leak.
What could happen
A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire.
What gets fixed
Adventurer LP will notify owners, and Dometic service centers will install a remedy kit of gaskets, washers, thread locker bolts, and two round orange labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 6, 2021.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 2 June 2021.
