What the defect is
Marion Body Works Inc. (Marion Body Works) is recalling one 2018 International SR525 emergency vehicle equipped with feature codes 12VXT or 12VXU. With the parking brake applied and the automatic transmission in the 'Drive' or 'Reverse' position, and when the stationary PTO switch is engaged by the operator, the engine RPM will ramp up and may overcome the parking brake's ability to hold the vehicle.

Unintended vehicle movement increases the risk of a crash.
What gets fixed
Marion Body Works will update the Engine Control Module to enable the PTO neutral interlock, free of charge. The affected vehicle is within manufacturer's control, and therefore no owner notification letter will be mailed.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires.
