What the defect is
Britax Child Safety, Inc. (Britax) is recalling certain One4Life Slim ClickTight All-in-One car seats with model numbers E1D197A, E1D197B, E1D197F, and E1D197G. The labels and user guide incorrectly state the maximum rear-facing lower anchor weight. As such, these child seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, "Child Restraint Systems."
What could happen
An incorrect label and user guide may result in an improperly installed child seat, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
What gets fixed
Britax will mail owners new labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 18, 2024.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 19 November 2024.
