What the defect is
Evenflo Company, Inc. (Evenflo) is recalling certain All4One child seats. Please refer to Evenflo's recall report for specific model numbers. In rear-facing mode, the adjustable recline mechanism may shift out of proper position. As such, these child seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, "Child Restraint Systems."
What could happen
A child seat that does not maintain proper recline position may not adequately secure a child in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, should another passenger put their hand in the recline mechanism when it shifts out of position, their risk of injury is increased.
What gets fixed
Evenflo will replace the child seat, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning February 18, 2026.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 24 December 2025.
