- Mopar Rearview Camera Module
What the defect is
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain Mopar rearview camera modules with part numbers 68284643AC, 68417057AA, 68417055AA, and 56054158AG. Cracks in the microprocessor may cause the rearview camera image not to display properly.
What could happen
A rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
What gets fixed
Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Cameras that have not been installed on a vehicle will be repurchased. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed September 30, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated July 2026.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 26 August 2025.
