Air Can Be Trapped By A Separated I/E Valve Causing It To Balloon And Block The Exhaust Passage Of The Trailer Spring Brake Circuit.

The Brake Caliper Bolts On These Axles May Not Be Properly Torqued Which Can Allow The Caliper To Detach From The Mounting Flange. As Such, These Vehicles Fail To Comply With The Requirements Of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (Fmvss) Number 121, “Air Brake Systems.”

Vehicle recall defect – The Piston In The Antilock Valve Could Stick Due To Exposure To High Concentrations Of Fluid Contaminants That May Collect In The Trailer Braking System. Consequently, No Air Would Be Delivered To The Brake Chambers Normally Supplied By That Valve. This Could Result In A “No Brake” Condition On The Affected Axles.
