What the defect is
Mci is recalling certain model year 2010 J4500 motor coaches manufactured from october 2009 through august 2010, and equipped with braun wheelchair lifts. The electrical and hydraulic lines that service the wheelchair lifts may be routed or clamped in a way that could result in the lines being pinched during lift operation.
What could happen
This could result in a fire causing personal injury or property damage.
What gets fixed
MCI WILL IMPROVE THE ROUTING AND CLAMPING OF THE HYDRAULIC AND ELECTRICAL LINES SERVICING THE BRAUN WHEELCHAIR LIFTS. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 14, 2011.

Your rights
A safety recall repair is free. Under US federal law the manufacturer must fix a safety defect at no cost to you — no charge for parts, labor or diagnosis — whether or not you are the original owner. A dealer cannot charge you for recall work, and cannot require you to have bought the vehicle from them.
That entitlement is not unlimited. It applies where the vehicle was first sold less than 15 years before the recall was announced — 5 years for tires. Past that a manufacturer may still do the repair free of charge, and many do, but they are no longer obliged to. This recall was reported on 1 March 2011.
